Since term is starting soon I thought I'd start putting together a termcard.

0th week:
Wednesday to Friday: Freshers Week (need people to man the stalls)
Saturday & Sunday: UK Championships (multitable tournament held in Oxford - see here for details)

1st week:
Thursday: First DYP?

2nd week:
Tuesday: Start of the league
Thursday: DYP

3rd week:
Thursday: DYP/Uni Trials

4th week:
Thursday: DYP/Uni Trials
Weekend: Garlando Tournament in Reading (confirmed - see here)

5th week:
Thursday: DYP
Saturday: match v Warwick (away)

6th week:
Thursday: DYP
Saturday: Mixed Doubles cuppers(?)

7th week:
Thursday: DYP
Weekend: Garlando Tournament in Keele (confirmed - see here)

8th week:
Tuesday: Last league week
Thursday: DYP

Because of the Garlando tournaments in November it's likely the match against Warwick will be in 5th or 6th week. It's away this year, so we'll need to sort out transport.

As well as this we need to fit in university trials, Freshers tournament(s) and possibly some cuppers events.

If anyone is free to help with manning the Freshers Fair stall please let me or Lea know; unfortunately I'm not going to be able to do it this year so we will probably be short on people.

Looks like a good schedule, especially with the 3 tournaments (2 of which are quite local)

I'll phone college tomorrow and find out if i can move in early, if so i'll be happy to do the freshers stall with someone 2 or 3 of the days.

I think, with the warwick match probably having to be earlier, it might be best to have uni trials in 3rd/4th week (4th might give people going to Reading some practice at more serious games before the tournament).

Are all the freshers/cuppers events held on saturdays?

Yep - I'm planning to go to all three, hopefully we can get a few bods to each one. Are you definitely going to the UKC at the end of Freshers' week? Do you need partners for anything? Like a Pro for Pro-Am?

Sounds good.

Conventionally yes but it's possible they could be held on Sundays instead.

I'm partnering Stan for all the UKC doubles i think. I'm not going to be able to play the open singles though, and probably won't play Pro-Am so i get home earlier this time.

I'm definately planning to go to Oxford and Reading. Might go to Keele too if i'm not busy that weekend.

I will definately be in Oxford from tuesday, 0th week, so i'll help out at the freshers fair

Just wanna say best of luck to the new 2009-10 OUTFC Committee.
If you guys need any help/advice from an old veteran, then feel free to contact me ;)
Hopefully you'll be able to recruit many fresh faces at the start of this term.
In regards to the UKC, there are numerous Pros/Pro-Masters without partners for Pro-Am, so please refer to Britfoos!

Btw, I heard that Alan is back in Oxford?! For a year of Masters.

How about holding Mixed Doubles cuppers in 6th week? It doesn't seem like there's much alternative...

Reading tourney is now confirmed for the weekend of 4th week. I'm definitely planning to go on the Saturday and I think Brodie is going on the Sunday. More details are available here.

If you think you might be interested in going get in touch so we can try to coordinate transport.
